LUFT (3+)

A Danceperformance for All Ages |

Nir de Volff & Theater o.N. | Germany |

What happens to the air we breathe into our bodies? How can we use our own breath to find freedom in the body and connect with others? The breath is the simplest and yet most complex personal tool to express our self. All of our joy, happiness, fears, emotional heaviness, and traumas reside in our chest, not just in our brain or under our skin.

LUFT is an interplay between restrictions and the search for freedom. The process of liberating the dancers' bodies begins.
A protected space is to be created in which a playful approach to fragility, monstrosity and authenticity is practiced. It is a common search for the human and how we preserve being human.
At the end of the performance, children and adults are invited to dance and breathe together with the dancers.

After many successful works for theaters such as the Schaubühne, the Gorki or the Thalia Theater Hamburg, Nir de Volff has now developed a piece for young audiences together with the Theater o.N. for the first time. The choreography and the movement core are based on his movement method BBM - Breathing Bodies Movement, which focuses on the body and its breathing system as the motor for dance movements.
